Cutting Ball Theater Gets $150,000 Grant to Produce Five Plays by August Strindberg

Rob Melrose and Paige Rogers of Cutting Ball Theater are each Strindberg aficionados.

San Francisco's Cutting Ball Theater has been awarded a grant of $150,000 to produce five plays by Swedish playwright August Strindberg, according to a statement released by the theater company. The result will be a festival in October of next year called Strindberg Cycle: The Chamber Plays in Rep.

“This will be by far our biggest project to date,” said company Artistic Director Rob Melrose in the statement, “and will allow us to be an important part of the worldwide celebration of Strindberg's centennial.”
