Um yeah. I don't think so. Offering local restaurants a “seal of approval from the city” in exchange for voluntarily stopping use of transfats in their kitchens doesn't seem like much of an incentive to me. In fact, it doesn't seem like any incentive at all. New York City knows this, of course, which is why they banned the stuff. C'mon San Francisco, restaurants are not like kindergarteners, you can't promise a gold star and expect better behavior.
