David Lynch, wine director of Cotogna and Quince, is readying to embark on his own restaurant venture. Inside Scoop divulges he'll take over the space that currently houses the wine bar Heart, which is set to close Dec. 10, and remodel it into an American-styled osteria: St. Vincent. Of course there will be plenty of wine on the menu. Look for an opening in early to mid 2012.
The single-cup brew with mint garnish that is Philz Coffee is readying to open another shop. Eater SF learns, via BeyondChron, that in addition to the pending Noe Valley location, Hastings Law School CFO David Seward, asked the slow-brew coffee shop to move into a vacant spot at their Tenderloin campus location. No word yet on an opening date.
The plans for the mixed-use space at the corner of Hyde at California, are going forward, which means the 24-hour Cala Foods will make way for a Trader Joe's. The Tender discovers the last day to grab what's left on the shelves will be Dec. 3.
