If you need an actual carrot dangled in front of your nose for that healthful walk on Marina Green this weekend, Fort Mason can hook you up. The farmers' market kicks off there Sunday. The California Farmers' Market Association says to expect “over 40 certified growers and food producers at peak season,” meaning the kind of produce you find on the plates at neighboring Greens Restaurant. While you're at the market, check out Fort Mason's Friends of the San Francisco Public Library-sponsored Book Bay, with its deep discounts on food-related books, cookbooks, and prints We hear the Book Bay will soon be home to a food-centric café, too.
