Let's do lunch:

Some days you just wanna lunch like a Wharf tourist, but in a place that serves up better eats. SF Weekly restaurant critic Meredith Brody likes Pete's famous clam chowder and Anchor Steam-battered fish and chips at Weird Fish (2193 Mission at 18th St.).

Drink therapy:

Dual pool tables, a chill-friendly backyard, and happy-hour specials: $1 off drafts and $3 wells, plus perennial $2 PBR cans and $5 margaritas, at Benders Bar & Grill (806 South Van Ness at 19th St.), 4-7 p.m.

It's $3 Tuesday in the Haight: three-buck house beers, all day, at Magnolia Pub & Brewery (1398 Haight at Masonic). With luck, you'll have enough scratch left for a plate of crispy pig ears and the Prather Ranch burger.
