A couple weeks ago we heard tell of a rumored Shake Shack that’s to open in the Marina. Well, the power of internet gossip loosened something in the firmament and information has been trickling out since. Danny Meyer‘s 136-location upscale burger chain confirmed that it will open a restaurant in Palo Alto’s Stanford Shopping Center sometime this fall.
Now, we’ve gotten official word that a second Shake Shack will open this fall in Larkspur, at the Marin Country Mart. It’s the same shopping center that’s home to Marin Brewing, an El Huarache Loco, and a Belcampo Meats. Slowly, slowly, Shake Shack is circling San Francisco — and hopefully we will indeed get one at 3060 Fillmore St. as Socketsite initially reported. (Come closer, damnit!) Still, as planned, if you don’t want to take Caltrain down the Peninsula for a burger, you can ride a ferry to Marin.
