Place Pigalle

Place Pigalle

This dive gives those in Hayes Valley who'd rather not drop rent on a bar tab a place to go. Locals love the pool table and the foosball table, and after looking around at the well-worn couches, one may wonder, "Wait, am I in a frat house?"
The Final Final

The Final Final

Its walls covered by 49ers and Giants memorabilia, the Final Final is a solid place to kick back and watch sports in the Marina, with a crowd of regulars, sports enthusiasts, and whoever else shows up to enjoy the pool table, dartboard, and free popcorn.

With nightly DJs playing good ol' rock 'n' roll, Delirium's small, black-walled back room is one of the city's coolest places when the DJs are firing on all cylinders. And with a motto like "service for the sick," we can dig it.

    The Dubliner

    3838 24th St. San Francisco, CA 94114
415-826-2279 With 14 TVs, there are enough screens here to show every NFL game on a Sunday morning, plus bowling and NASCAR. It's a comfortable, unpretentious pub where you can knock back an Irish Car Bomb with a chatty bartender -- many of them have legit Irish lilts or English accents. If chugging a Guinness, Jameson, and Baileys concoction doesn't appeal, order beers in pint, pitcher, or gallon sizes. The Dubliner also serves Magners Irish cider. Early in the week is quieter, but an all-day happy hour on Wednesdays draws people in for $3 drafts and glasses of wine. They don't serve food, but feel free to order delivery from nearby restaurants. Read more about this San Francisco bar or club >>

  • Durty Nelly

    Durty Nelly's

2328 Irving San Francisco, CA 94122

There's actually very little dirt in Durty Nelly's, a clean and comfy pub in the Outer Sunset. Whether you sidle up to the bar or slip into a booth by the fireplace, this wee Irish drinkery cultivates a homey attitude with all the rustic accoutrements you'd expect: brassy knick-knacks, a map of Eire, pictures of sweater-clad old folks, etc. The cottage-like exterior isn't misleading. Sure, Durty Nelly's is cute - but it's also small, so don't even think of traipsing that big bachelorette party in here. The pub grub menu, meanwhile, includes American staples like burgers and sandwiches as well as traditional items like Shepherd's Pie and an Irish breakfast with rashers, bangers, pudding, and more.
