Dave Chappelle Is Back: He Schedules Two Shows at Cobb's

Posted on Tue, May 17, 2011 at 5:00 PM

Just when you thought it was safe to go to a San Francisco or Oakland comedy club without having Dave Chappelle show up unannounced ... Dave Chappelle is showing up unannounced. A spokeswoman for Cobb's Comedy Club says Chappelle will play two shows tonight, one at 8 and the second at 10:30. Admission is $55, and tickets are available on the Live Nation website.

Chappelle played a series of unannounced shows in April, the first of which was with Lauryn Hill at the New Parish in Oakland, as covered by Ian S. Port on our sister blog, All Shook Down. In the days after that he played numerous shows at Cobb's.

  • Permanent Residents

San Francisco is not just skin deep to these folks — it's a permanent resident of their bodies and souls. They may be scattered far and wide — everywhere from Bernal Heights to Brooklyn, El Paso, Tokyo, and beyond — but the one thing these self-defined San Franciscans all share is a deep commitment to the city by the Bay.
