If you have a penchant for dressing up in bridal attire and going on bar crawls (whether as a participant or a spectator sport), check out the 15th annual Brides of March this Saturday, March 16. The premise is simple: grab a white wedding dress (it doesn't have to be yours) and drink and be merry in true San Francisco fashion.

The idea was born when Brides of March founder Michele Michele saw a huge rack of bridal gowns at a secondhand store and "realized how often the dreams of an ideal marriage had failed and how so much of this dream has been fabricated to fuel the ever-increasing consumption of new products," she says on the event's website. "I thought it would be funny to take the primary symbol of this institution and twist it around."

The afternoon begins at the Tunnel Top Bar at 601 Bush Street at 2:30 pm tomorrow. The bar crawl, which goes into the evening, hits a variety of bars near Union Square and includes pit stops ranging from Walgreens (to "buy cigars and pregnancy tests") to a promenade and makeup touch-up at Neiman Marcus. Brides will certainly be proposing to passer-by along the way. The crawl concludes at Aunt Charlie's Lounge for cocktails, and brides are encouraged to stay for the drag show at 10 pm ($5 cover).

If you don't have a wedding dress lying around (or think your significant other would prefer you not use theirs), hit up a few thrift stores -- the website has some tips on hacking a thrift store dress to fit for the occasion.
