Get ready for your close-up, San Francisco.

Casting directors for HBO's upcoming Girls-meets-gays series Looking, are on the hunt for fresh-faced and camera-ready extras in the Bay Area. Wallflowers need not apply.

No. Seriously. There are no perks for being a wallflower on this TV show. The job posting specifically states "no wallflowers!"

Maybe you fit the bill:

  • Real military men -- or fit men -- in their 20s to 30s, willing to get tight, military-style haircut
  • Gay/gay-friendly men and gay and lesbian couples willing to dance with same-sex partners
  • Hipsters 18 to 30: "Must be able to pull off Hipster vibe with your own clothes & styling."

Extras are paid and filming will take place Sept. 16-Nov. 8 in Alameda, the Castro, and the Mission.

This sounds like a perfect opportunity for those still upset about Woody Allen's depiction of San Francisco in Blue Jasmine. Hopefully HBO gets it right.

In any case, just keep in mind that the camera adds 10 pounds and slowly step away from the burrito.
