The pressure to do it big for Valentine's Day gets even worse if you're already part of an official couple. Everyone and their mother expects everyone with a significant other to have some extravagant outing planned, the more lavish the better. That's probably where the inspiration for this list of the 20 most romantic cities in America came from. Although compiled by the Huffington Post, the list draws on data taken from MissTravel.com, a dating site dedicated to matching up rich dudes with attractive broke chicks looking for someone to take them on a trip for free. Yes, this really exists.

To create their list, MissTravel looked through the 7,000-plus trips planned on their site to various American destinations to determine which locations were the most visited, and therefore, the "most romantic."

Apparently, the #1 place rich guys want to take their new "friends" is Austin, Texas, ranked four spots ahead of Honolulu, Hawaii and 18 spots above Lahaina, Hawaii. Because we all know the translation of "most romantic place" is "place most likely to get you laid." We were surprised to see that Austin -- and most others on the list -- we're tropical paradises. Maybe this can be credited to the fact that numerous accounts from women who have used MissTravel have reported on SiteJabber.com that it tends to be frequented by unemployed guys pretending to be rich just to get a date. Or, well, laid.

Also included on the list is Salt Lake City, Utah, which is home to many Mormons who absolutely would not condone the sort of premarital activities MissTravel members use their city for apparently so often that it's ranked #9, Richmond, Virgina, which is the former murder capital of the United States but the 12th most romantic city on this list, and a place in Wyoming called Moose (#5).

Also, just for the sake of mentioning it, yes our lovely city of San Francisco is on the list, and it's ranked at #3.
