It's finally that time of year again, when you hang out with all your friends in the park and get really hungry for chocolate.

What? We were talking about Easter, what did you think we meant?

Although this year, both Easter and 4/20 coincide, the Easter-related festivities kick off on Saturday, April 19 with the the annual Eggstravaganza event at Sharon Meadow in Golden Gate Park. The event runs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and will feature egg hunts, games, rides, live entertainment and BBQ competition. The cost for this event is $8 per person.

If you get tired of the haziness over on Hippie Hill on 4/20 -- but still want to be somewhere where you can properly celebrate both holidays -- join The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence for their annual Easter Sunday Hunky Jesus Contest over in Hellman Hollow at 3:25 p.m.; this year will double as a celebration for the Sisters' 35th anniversary. They're celerbating this mid-3s milestone with a Wizard of Oz theme, and Oz-related costumes are encouraged!

For those of you have attended Hunky Jesus in the past, you may be wondering why the relocation: Hunky Jesus is being held at Golden Gate Park this year because of the renovations at Dolores Park. In addition to the contest itself, this free event will also include an Easter bonnet contest, a kid-friendly Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m., live entertainment, and the first-ever Foxy Mary contest at 12:30 p.m.

If you're more into Easter, than cannabis, check out the 23rd annual Union Street Spring Celebration and Easter Parade. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Union Street will be filled with bounce houses, a petting zoo, live music, and of course, more candy. There will also be an Easter bonnet contest from 11:15 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (in case you were bummed you missed the one at the Hunky Jesus contest), and an Easter parade at 2 p.m., which typically is filled with elaborate Spring-related floats and people in full on bunny suits. Everything is free, except for the food, which will be served by various local restaurants. The event page specifies that this is a "smoke-free event."

And over in Potrero, the annual Bring Your Own Big Wheel, will be happening at 4 p.m. sharp! (Is it a sin to pass Jesus?)

If you want to celebrate both holidays simultaneously, head to Slim's for an all-ages event featuring live music by local psychedelic rock band Moonalice and an Easter egg hunt (one of the prizes is a pair of tickets to BottleRock).

The band will have several friends with them, including Wavy Gravy. Doors open at 4 p.m., the music starts at 4:20 p.m., and tickets to the event are, we kid you not, exactly four dollars and 20 cents.

Happy holidaze!
