Our heroine is still in New York this week, and she's still meeting up with all her besties, and promoting her book, and gushing over good food, yet despite all her efforts, her show on the Cooking Channel is still relegated to Saturday afternoons -- the graveyard shift of cooking shows, no?

Duff had an interview with Larry King, who has somehow become even more of a curmudgeon in his retirement. His new show looks like it takes place at a kitchen table in a studio apartment. Like a good lil chef, Haylie prepares deviled eggs for the "hot" film crew in her hotel suite, with the help of her gorgeous gal pal. She also makes prosciutto and crescent roll wrapped asparagus for Larry, who announces quite proudly that he hates both eggs and asparagus. She won't let that dampen her mood, mind you.

She had eaten the most ah-maz-zing duck fat french fries earlier that day and nothing was going to slow her down. Part of the reason this show appealed to me, despite hating the premise that this little rich girl was "real," was that it took place in Malibu and Hollywood. Get out of New York already.

It's also quite apparent that she and her friends are never truly going to be themselves in front of the camera; they are always aware it is there and are just a bit more... well, "real" than reality calls for. Either that or she really is this shallow and sorority girlish. Ignorance is bliss.
