Americans are being charmed by the South. San Francisco dropped from second to fourth in Travel and Leisure's annual 10 Best U.S. and Canadian cities list. That's right, cable cars and sweeping views lost out to horse-drawn carriages and plantations.

The ranking consists of scores for food, nightlife, and people (that'd be us), among other items. So while the South may have some amazing food, San Francisco will always be first in our hearts.

Here's the list in full:

1. Charleston, South Carolina

2. New Orleans

3. Savannah, Georgia

4. San Francisco

5. Chicago

6. Vancouver

7. Santa Fe, New Mexico

8. Quebec City

9. New York City

10. Boston
