It's as gray and sodden as Northern Europe out there, so why not lunch on something with roots in Alsace? Ironside's flammenkucken flatbread is a pizza not exactly in the Cal-Med tradition. Moistened with crème frâiche, scattered with ridiculously sweet caramelized onions and hunks of bacon, it feels exactly right in the handsome gloom of Ironside's reclaimed industrial ambience. And if you can manage a pint of Trumer Pils to go with, why the gloom positively disappears.
