Chronicle Books' annual warehouse sale starts tomorrow. From Thursday through Saturday, the San Francisco publishing house will be selling hundreds of titles from its back catalog ― for 65 percent off. (Note: The sale only takes place at the store located in Chronicle's SOMA headquarters.)

Because SFoodie only lines up early for estate sales if we've seen something we liked in the Craigslist preview pics, we called Chronicle to find out which cookbooks will be on sale. The woman we spoke to looked over her inventory and gave us a partial list:

If we were particularly OCD bargain-hunters (we admit nothing), we'd

cross-check the titles on the publisher's

Web site to gather more advance intel. Basically, our informant concluded, the titles on sale are ones that came out a year or more ago. Nothing from the past few season's releases will receive the discount.

Hours: 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Thur.-Fri., 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sat.

Arcade Fire opened their US tour at Shoreline Amphitheater to a full house who was there in support of their album "Reflector," which was released last fall. Dan Deacon opened the show to a happily surprised early audience and got the crowd actively dancing and warmed up. DEVO was originally on the bill to support Arcade Fire but a kayak accident last week had sidelined lead singer Mark Mothersbaugh and the duration of the west coast leg of the tour. Win Butler did a homage to DEVO by performing Uncontrollable Urge.

Or hearing a new movie with Sam Raimie based on a video game or accidentally rubbing shoulders with Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) in cosplay, being a cosplayer, San Diego Comic-Con is the place to be.
