Get there after what you guess was the lunch rush, and Delessio
's pay-by-the-pound buffet can feel like a wedding spread after the guests have moved on, when the band's free to pile up plates. Plenty of time to read, for instance, that the beef in the meatloaf is from Marin Sun Farms, though with its double slather of barbecue sauce and tomato jam ― an approximation of ketchup, only sweeter ― you can't exactly taste it. Go for the spinach sautéed with raisins, pine nuts, and sherry vinegar, and what you get is a lunch that glorifies the sweet-tart condiment. End result: Your reward of Chocolate Bubble-Wrap
tastes that much more plush.
