The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

Jay B. at Grub Street talks to Charles Phan about his plans for the original Slanted Door location at 584 Valencia St. They're still quite vague, but Grub Street says the concept is more likely to resemble Heaven's Dog than Out the Door.

Marcia G. at Tablehopper reports on the impending arrival of a new Hayes Valley Thai restaurant called Bai Thong (298 Gough, 863-9335). SFoodie is intrigued by her mention that the new owners ran a restaurant in northeastern Thailand for seven years; we hope their plans for the menu include lots of regional dishes, and not just your standard pad thai and sugary red curry.
