Birthday Tribute Dinner to Marion Cunningham

Where: Foreign Cinema, 2534 Mission (at 21st St.), 648-7600

When: Thu., Feb. 10

Cost: TBD

The rundown: Foreign Cinema's annual birthday tribute to Marion Cunningham, featuring dishes inspired by the noted East Bay cook and author. The menu's still being finalized, but Foreign Cinema's Gayle Pirie tells SFoodie the dinner may feature raised waffles. Pirie says Cunningham was a Foreign Cinema regular throughout the restaurant's first six years, recalling how she'd pull up in her Jag, sometimes with Williams-Sonoma founder Chuck Williams. Cunningham, whose health is poor, isn't expected to attend.

Reservations: Call 648-7600, or go to OpenTable
