The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

Inside Scoop is first to blog about the arrival of Source (1 Division, source-sf.com), which should open as early March. The pitch: a "multidimensional dining experience" featuring "international comfort vegetarian food" and juice-based "elixirs." Oh my.

Tablehopper secures a few details on the replacement for the Bambuddha Lounge in the Phoenix Hotel. While there's no name yet, the owners are Mighty's Sean and Isabel Manchester, who have recruited Trevor Ogden from Mission Beach Cafe to be the chef. The pitch: "Imagine if Steve Tyler bought a historical mansion and moved in," Sean tells Tablehopper. Oh my2.

According to Inside Scoop, L'Appart Resto (636 San Anselmo Ave., San Anselmo, lappartresto.com), which closed a few months ago after only five months in business, has journaled a lot, taken the Meyers-Briggs, and figured out what it wants to be: more casual.

According to Eater SF, Parea Wine Bar in the Mission is changing hands; the woman who's buying the business will continue to operate a wine bar, possibly under a new name.

Tenderblog praises the continual evolution of Little Bird Coffeehouse (835 Geary, 440-2165), most notably the hiring of a chef to prepare breakfast and lunch.

Did we mention that Palmyra (700 Haight, 896-4172), the Mediterranean cafe in the old Lower Haight Burger Joint space, has opened? If not, Tablehopper just did. The pitch: falafel, hummus, roast chicken.

 A few additional notes:

  • Bistro Luneta, the Filipino-fusion restaurant in San Mateo, closes (Grub Street).
  • Spruce has hired Walter Abrams away from the French Laundry to be its chef de cuisine, replacing Ben Cohn (Inside Scoop).
  • Disco Volante in Oakland has started up dinner service, under Bacar vet Douglas Bernstein (Tablehopper)
