It's Day Six of SF Beer Week, otherwise known as humpday. Today should be all about beer-event efficiency. Get an early start (leave now), then frame the rest of your day through the bottom of a beer glass:

Beer Breakfast

Where: Social Kitchen and Brewery, 1326 Ninth Ave. (at Irving), 681-0330

When: 7:30-11 a.m.

Cost: $20

What: Enjoy a meal which includes every important food group: biscuits and gravy, 4505 Meats sausage, cheese grits, and banana bread pudding. Grub will be paired with house Kolsch and Big Muddy Weizenbock. Just in case you miss your cubicle, Office Space will be playing on the tube. Hooky never felt so right.

As it turns out, a gut-busting beer breakfast isn't the most direct route to a productive day. Since you've been such a champ this week, we'll grant you a reprieve. Go ahead and nap the afternoon away. When your alarm goes off, meander down to SOMA:

Beers, Bourbon, and Baos

Where: Bloodhound, 1145 Folsom St. (at Seventh St.), 863-2840

When: 6-9 p.m.

Cost: Pay per drink

What: Meet the brewer of Truckee's acclaimed Fifty Fifty Brewing and sample his bourbon barrel-aged Eclipse Imperial Stout. A version of the beer aged in Four Roses bourbon barrels will be paired with Bloodhound's very own Four Roses "Bloodhound Selection" Single Barrel bourbon. An Evan Williams-themed bourbon flight will also be available. Chairman Bao will be on-hand with a truck full of delights to soak up the booze.

You lost some precious time this afternoon. Don't fret; we've adjusted your route to account for the afternoon food coma. Your next event is conveniently located right across the street:

Sipping Session with

Firestone Walker Brewing

Where: City Beer Store, 1168 Folsom St. (at Eighth St.), 503-1033

When: 8-10 p.m.

Cost: Pay per drink

What: Sample a range of Firestone beers, including the newly released Double Jack Double IPA, and blends from their annual barrel-aged anniversary project. Brewery representatives will discuss the art of beer blending and barrel aging. Now all you need ia a brewery and some barrels....

  • Phish at the Bill Graham Auditorium
Phish is in the midst of a block of sold out shows at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (October 27-29). The Monday night concert featured a rare first set opener of “Walfredo” with the band members switching instruments for the song. The evening’s highlights included John Fishman and his iconic vacuum cleaner solo and favorites such as Chalk Dust Torture, Slave to the Traffic Light, Axilla, Rift, 2001 Space Odyssey, and Maze. The show also featured Phish’s debut of a, seemingly impromptu, version of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” to with roaring approval of the, singing along, crowd. With Game 6 being tonight, partying Phish fans will join Giants fans in Civic Center Plaza where there will be a World Series viewing party on a large screen set up by the City.
