1 Bourbon, 1 Scotch, and 1 Beer

Where: The Boothby Center for the Beverage Arts, 1161 Mission (at Eighth St.), Ste. 120

When: Sat., Feb. 19, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Cost: $45

The rundown: As much as we love cocktails, sometimes all we want is the simplicity of a shot and a beer. Boilermaker, headbutt, beer and a bump, call it what you want, it satisfies in a way a cocktail can't, sort of like duct tape for the soul. It's the one drink you can enjoy in any bar, divey or opulent, with equal fulfillment. Showcasing the variety and versatility of this classic combination for SF Beer Week, the Boothby Center is hosting an event that features a carefully curated pairing of 15 beers and 15 whiskies. Yes, we said 15, as in one-five. We're scared, too. You are encouraged to find your own favorite pairing from the beers and spirits being poured, sealing your own signature combo. Eating a large, greasy meal beforehand and taking public transit are unspoken requirements.
