Food Trucks Slinging Healthy for Mission High

Second Annual Veggie Fiesta

Where: Mission High School parking lot, Dolores Street between 17th and 18th Streets

When: Sat., May 14, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Cost: Food items individually priced; a portion of food sales goes to Mission High's nutrition education program

The rundown: Sustainable-food education org Nextcourse is making like your mom, only instead of pretending that spoonful of peas is an airplane headed for your hangar-shaped mouth, they're teaming up with Off the Grid to entice with food trucks. Mobile vendors Toasty Melts, Liba Falafel, and a few more as yet unconfirmed will roll up to Mission High Saturday to sell good-for-you bites incorporating seasonal produce, a fundraiser for the school's Eat UR Veggies nutrition education program. Nextcourse is dangling a "special treat" from Mission High's culinary leadership team, and there'll be games and a raffle for prizes that include tickets to a 4505 Meats butchery class. Event sponsor: Bi-Rite Market.
