Where: Cookhouse, 253 Columbus (at Broadway)

When: Wednesday, Aug. 10, 6:30 p.m.

Cost: $65 (includes Mission Street Food book and dinner)

If you're like us and you miss Mission Street Food, there's a chance to revisit its hectic glory next week.

MSF founder Anthony Myint and Karen Leibowitz, coauthor of the just-released book Mission Street Food: Recipes and Ideas from an Improbable Restaurant, will be speaking and cooking at Cookhouse, an event space in North Beach. The ticket price includes the book, which sells for $30.

We love the book, and we really miss the restaurant, so this is an event we highly anticipate. We're not alone, so we suggest ordering tickets soon if you want to attend.

The three-course menu, to be prepared by Myint:

Rare beef with mozzarella mousse, tarragon relish, and potato crisps

Caesar salad MSF style: oil-cured chicken, chicken skin, avocado, boquerones

"Cinnamon Toast Crunch": brûléed pan de mie, sweetened milk

One beer per person and sparkling water is included. It's not BYO; you can purchase wine separately at the venue. Unlike in the old days at MSF, there are no vegetarian options.

City Lights is handling the ticket sales. Click here for tickets or call 415-362-8193 for details.
