Project Open Hand's Dessert First

Where: InterContinental Hotel

When: Sunday, Aug. 14, 5-8 p.m.

Cost: $75 -- unless you win our contest, and then it's free!

We've got two free tickets to Project Open Hand's Dessert First, an event with 16 leading chefs creating desserts. There are supposed to be specialty cocktails and live entertainment (whatever that means) as well as hors d'oeuvres, in case you feel guilty about, um, dessert first.

So how would you like to spend three hours eating desserts from Citizen Cake's Elizabeth Falkner, Humphry Slocombe's Jake Godby, and Range's Michelle Polzine, among others?

Here's what you have to do.

Tell us, in 140 characters or fewer, why you should win.

This should be easier than the old 25-words-or-less thing, and discourages people from trying to slip in words like "pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism" (besides, if you have that, we shouldn't give you dessert-binge tickets anyway.)

Leave your reason in the comments below. If we have enough good entries, we'll have a poll later in the week to determine the winner. If we don't -- well then, you're gonna win!

More details about the event are here. We're fans of the event's organizer, Project Open Hand, which delivers hot meals to homebound seniors and people living with serious illnesses.

Deadline for entries is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9. Don't go over 140 characters, but otherwise, say what you will. Good luck!
