The bad news about Cocktail Week is that events are starting to sell out. The good news is twofold: tickets are still available for many, and more events are being added, so keep an eye out here for the latest.

Tickets still available

Bay Area Distillers Panel Discussion

Where: The Boothby Center, 1161 Mission (at 8th)

When: 3-5 p.m.

Cost: $25 in advance; $35 at the door

The rundown: A discussion of artisan distillation with three of the Bay Area's best distillers: Marko Karakacevic of Charbay, Lance Winters of St. George Spirits and Arne Hillesland of No. 209 Gin. They'll offer insight into the small batch distillation process, the spirits business, and how they see the landscape changing. Oh yes, there will be drinking.

Understanding the Heart of Tequila (with a Real Agave Farmer)

Where: The Boothby Center, 1161 Mission (at 8th)

When: 6-8 p.m.

Cost: $25 in advance; $35 at the door

The rundown: Learn all about Tequila with a live demonstration of how a jimador (agave harvester) breaks down an agave plant in the field. Naturally, the cocktails feature Tequila.

Bar Crawl with Charbay and the Perfect Puree of Napa Valley

Where: Rye, Cantina, Clock Bar, Otis Lounge, Rickhouse

When: 5-8 p.m.

Cost: Sold out (was $45)

The rundown: Marko Karakasevic of Charbay leads a five-bar tour, with a full-size cocktail at each, starting at Rye and ending with you on the floor at Rickhouse. That is, if you bought a ticket already. If not, there's always tomorrow, with another full schedule of events.
