SF Beer Week: Singles Edition

You already celebrated Valentine's Day early, and now you're feeling jaded. Take one last shot at finding your soulmate at this aphrodisiac-fueled event:

Oyster Extravaganza, Valentine Edition

Where: Magnolia Pub, 1398 Haight St. (at Masonic), (415) 864-PINT

When: Tuesday, February 14th, 11am

Cost: a la carte

What: Multiple varieties of oysters, both raw and cooked, paired with beer. Enjoy oyster stouts on tap, and dig around for some pearls.

You didn't find true love at the pub? Forget about the Hallmark holiday and commiserate with other hopeless romantics at these cynical Tuesday events:

Bitter, Sour, Single

Where: Public House , 24 Willie Mays Plaza (at 3rd St.), 644-0240

When: Tuesday, February 14th, 4pm-10pm

Cost: pay per drink

What: A singles party featuring sour and bitter brews. Free sample flights will be given out with food purchases. Beer highlights include Bear Republic's 'Tartare' sour wheat beer and 'Cuvee de Bubba', a wine-barrel aged sour ale.

Love Is For The Birds

Where: Church Key, 1402 Grant Ave (at Green), 963-1713

When: Tuesday, February 14th, 6pm-11pm

Cost: pay per drink

What: The DJ will spin depressing love songs while you sample beers from Grand Teton Brewing. Expect a version of their Black Cauldron imperial stout aged in Stranahan's whiskey barrels.

Stone's Bitter Valentine

Where: Beer Revolution, 464 3rd St. (at Broadway), Oakland, (510) 452-BEER

When: Tuesday, February 14th, 6pm-10pm

Cost: pay per drink

What: Join the folks from Stone Brewing ( as they break hearts and take names. Give your tongue some Valentine's Day action with pairings of bitter beer and chili chocolate. Be careful not to wake up with a Stone Brewing tramp stamp, unless you're REALLY into beer geeks.
