The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco food scene.

While physicaly not far from his Ferry Building restaurant the Slanted Door, Charles Phan's pending restaurant on Pier 3 will be world's away when it comes to cuisine and décor. SFGate reports that the food and drinks inspiration will be pulled from the cajun and creole of New Orleans. As for décor, the inspiration for architect Olle Lundberg's work will be his old canoe. Interesting.

Bow chica wow wow: The pending Penthouse Club & Steakhouse will open March 15. And yes, Grub Street confirms there will be a couple Penthouse Pets in attendance for the grand opening.

The Marina-in-the-Mission restaurant and club Medjool is closing the dining room, but the roof-with-a-view will remain open. (We're not surprised they're keeping it accessible after the lengthy battle to allow the the roof/deck to remain open.) Inside Scoop notes the restaurant/club's dining area is slated to close indefinitely and undergo renovations. There's no talk of new ownership, yet, although owner Gus Murad put the place on the market last year.

And it's official. Eater SF delivers the news that Roam Artisan Burgers has signed a lease for the old Osaka space on Fillmore. Expect the grill to go hot in June.

Oola is set to get a new neighbor: Jamber. LiveSoMa shares that while the food menu remains unknown there will be an emphasis on local beer and wine. No opening date as of yet.

The evening’s highlights included John Fishman and his iconic vacuum cleaner solo and favorites such as Chalk Dust Torture, Slave to the Traffic Light, Axilla, Rift, 2001 Space Odyssey, and Maze. The show also featured Phish’s debut of a, seemingly impromptu, version of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” to with roaring approval of the, singing along, crowd. With Game 6 being tonight, partying Phish fans will join Giants fans in Civic Center Plaza where there will be a World Series viewing party on a large screen set up by the City.
