Years ago, the lore of houses that gave out full-size Snickers bars or other extraordinary treats on Halloween was passed from kid to kid. These days there's the Internet, and real estate website has compiled a list of the best S.F. neighborhoods to trick-or-treat in, reports our news blog The Snitch.

According to Zillow, San Francisco is the best city in the country for trick or treating (holla!) and the neighborhoods of Presidio Heights, Sea Cliff, Noe Valley and Cow Hollow will bring kids the most loot come October 31.

The site didn't just take the wealthiest neighborhoods and leave it at that. To find the optimal, safest, most pedestrian-friendly neighborhood that would yield the most candy, they equally weighted the Zillow Home Value Index, population density, Walk Score and local crime data from Relocation Essentials.

So now there's no excuse to leave with that pillowcase half-full.
