All through December, SFoodie is bringing you local gift ideas for the food obsessives in your life.

Your favorite host or hostess will love that your Frog Hollow pear and Bellwether Carmody cheese bounty ($38) can be opened and devoured in fine fashion during cocktail hour. This fruity flavor combination is a classic, and works for even the most persnickety of palates. Frog Hollow pears are something of a royal treat, all lush, sweet and juicy -- no sandy or sour notes to be had.

Frog Hollow's pears are grown and ripened on a thriving 133-acre farm that is certified organic with C.C.O.F. (California Certified Organic Farmers) in Brentwood, California, in the East Bay. It's a good one-hour drive from San Francisco and worth a picking trip during harvest season next year.

Frog Hollow promises that the Bellwether cheese was: "inspired while touring Italy, [when] Liam Callahan, Bellwether's farmer and cheese maker worked to create a distinctive cow's cheese that was mild yet full of 'fresh milk flavor.' An excellent table cheese, the Carmody enhances the vanilla notes of the Warren." Sustainable, tasty, handpicked beauty: this tasty box brings it.

Dozens of vendors with original, unheard-of creations, such as deep fried mac and cheese on a stick, black pea paste pancakes, and Korean quesadillas.
