Cajunshire Chronicles Explores Cajun/Yorkshire Fusion

Cajunshire Chronicles

Where: Public Works, 161 Erie (at Mission), 932-0955

When: Wed., Jan. 16, 6:30 p.m.

Cost: $45 (purchase in advance via Eventbrite)

The rundown: In the land of Irish-Eritrean food trucks and sushi wrapped up like burritos, it's only natural that there would be a pop-up dinner exploring the intersection of Cajun and Yorkshire cooking inside a nightclub.

Visiting Mississippi-based chef Chris Grant and North Yorkshire ex-pat Trace Williams (who lives and cooks in the East Bay) have conceived a meal with at least six courses. One dish they're 'fessing up to in advance is a hybrid of a Yorkshire pudding topped with étoufée, with the rest of the menu under wraps. As for the name, the two friends collaborate on a regular podcast called The Cajunshire Chronicles.
