Grabbing the number four spot on Bon Appetit's top 10 new restaurants in the country of the year, North Beach dive bar turned Italian hot spot, Tosca Cafe proves to not only be well liked by Beyonce and Jay Z, but by the magazine's Andrew Knowlton too.

Knowlton celebrates Tosca's "classic yet modern" take on Italian cuisine and calls the roast chicken for two a "must order." He also praises New York's Amy Bloomfield and Ken Friedman for revamping the cafe and letting it turn a new leaf.

Those that beat Tosca to the top were first place holder Rose's Luxury in D.C., High Street on Market in Philly, and NYC's Estela.

S.F. restaurants are slipping from the top since State Bird Provision's list-topping win in 2012 and Saison's second place grab in 2013.

This year's complete top 10 list:

1. Rose's Luxury, Washington, D.C.
2. High Street on Market, Philadelphia
3. Estela, New York City
4. Tosca, San Francisco
5. Westward, Seattle
6. Central Provisions, Portland, ME
7. Hot Joy, San Antonio
8. Thai-Kun, Austin
9. Måurice, Portland, OR
10. Grand Central Market, Los Angeles
