Melons have been grown into unnatural square shapes in Japan for 40 years and if you think that goes against the laws of nature, you're in for a wild ride. China is producing baby-resembling pears they're sometimes referring to as Buddha pears.
When the fruit is still small, a plastic mold is placed around it to encourage baby form. The company that creates these molds also make square, heart, star, and other shapes for apples, tomatoes, and watermelons. They ship worldwide so you can grow your own baby-shaped fruit.
