The Castro's cruisiest fine restaurant -- impossibly crowded on weekends -- promises a loud, raucous evening and a long list of pricey comfort foods. Roasted chicken, soy-glazed halibut, and wild king salmon are all well-executed menu standards. The quality of veggie options like garlic mashed potatoes (ooh!) and portobello-mushroom lasagna (ho-hum) varies widely. Try to get a seat near the fishbowl window, where you can keep one eye on the handsome waitstaff, another on gamboling passers-by.
