Adagia

2700 Bancroft
(at College)
Berkeley, CA 94704
510-647-2300
Website
The beautiful setting, in the Presbyterian-owned Westminster House across the street from the Berkeley campus, is more of a draw than the well-meant but somewhat uneven cooking at Adagia. The huge, lofty, wood-paneled dining room features stained-glass windows and a massive fireplace. The menu features seasonal California-Mediterranean food, ranging from fresh salads and vegetable risottos to long-braised lamb shanks and grilled flatiron steaks. There's a limited wine and beer list, a lighter lunch menu, and breakfast fare, as well as weekend brunch.
