Big Nate's Barbeque

1665 Folsom (at 13th St.)
San Francisco, CA 94103
415-861-4242
Website
Though vegetarians won't find much to eat at former NBA star Nate Thurmond's no-frills barbecue mecca, the rest of us can't go wrong. Five kinds of smoky, slow-cooked meat (Memphis pork, beef brisket, beef links, chicken, and spectacular ribs) come with sides of tasty coleslaw and/or potato salad. Country beans are rich and smoky, and the spicy mean greens are worth going back for. Try the sweet potato pie for dessert. Takeout and delivery also available.
