This modern-day classic -- in which traditional diner fare is dressed up with hip accents and cutting-edge flavors -- isn't the trailblazer it was when Cindy Pawlcyn helped start it and Pat Kuleto first designed it, but it still features enough menu highlights to please the fun-loving. Among them: a creamy, dreamy mac and (Gouda) cheese; spiky chicken hash with lobster and fresh tomatoes; a silky, earthy pot roast; and a moist, crunchy pear-walnut tart with cinnamon ice cream. The mood is ever-jumping and the setting -- sleek and streamliner-esque in chrome and leather -- is a delight. Attractive bar and satisfactory wine list.
