Kingdom of Dumplings

1713 Taraval (at 27th Ave.)
San Francisco, CA 94116
566-6143
The surroundings are worn, but the dumplings are indeed king at this tiny spot. Fresh and handmade, they range from the familiar (Shanghai soup dumplings) to more exotic (pork and corn dumplings, pork and shrimp with chives, pork and Napa cabbage, lamb and chive). They come six to an order, served with a tangy soy dipping sauce, and are very inexpensive. Also on offer: green onion pancakes and sesame beef pancakes. - Meredith Brody
