Mamacita

2317 Chestnut
(at Scott)
San Francisco, CA 94123
415-346-8494
Website
Stylish and trendy yet family-friendly, Mamacita offers something for everyone. In addition to the expected Marina bar action (you can enjoy food at the bar along with your pomegranate margaritas), the dining room and interesting Mexican menu are surprisingly comfortable and relatively affordable. Antojitos (such as a superior guacamole), excellent soft tacos (chicken, beef, fish, or pork, served three to an order), and carefully cooked main courses (especially soothing chicken enchiladas) are all shareable.

The Inside Word on Mamacita

  • Barry Zito
I live with Brian Wilson, who is another guy on the team. Our favorite spot is Mamacita. It’s literally three blocks from our house. It’s in the Marina. The food is incredible. It’s Mexican food. We just go here and the scene is great. It’s always crowded.

This is a great place to go with a big group. You get tapas style dishes that you share with your whole party and the food is excellent. The crowd is usually pretty vibrant so getting in without reservations on a saturday night can be tough. I would suggest planning ahead and going with a big group- its a lot of fun!

Super trendy, but great food. Plus it's on Chestnut in the Marina, which means after you eat you can check out the neighborhood. Their margaritas are delicious too!
