Petite Deli

752 Columbus
(at Greenwich)
San Francisco, CA 94133
415-398-1682
Located on the fringes of tourist North Beach, this tiny place (2 tables inside, 2 out) is a one-woman operation, turning out impeccable, homey sandwiches on puffy, crusty ciabatta rolls, with good-quality deli meats and cheeses. Our favorites include the Young’s chicken (named for friendly proprietess Mrs. Young), made with fresh sliced chicken; the basil-tomato-and mozzarella; and chicken salad. Sides include homemade potato salad, pasta salad, and homemade chicken noodle soup. Very inexpensive. - Meredith Brody
