This charming spot, up a flight of stairs on the second story of a homey old building, is one of the best dining options in the area, and worth a trip to sample its Calabrian cooking. The golden walls (home to paintings and silent projections of Italian films) are a warm backdrop for the frequently changing menu. It usually offers four antipasti, four insalate and zuppe, four pastas, and four secondi, or meat and fish dishes. Everything is homemade, and everything, including the exceptionally good Italian bread and the well-balanced salads, is not only thoughtfully prepared but tastes authentically Italian. - Meredith Brody
