Suppenküche

601 Hayes (at Laguna)
San Francisco, CA 94102
415-252-9289
Website
Old standards like sauerbraten and Wienerschnitzel sparkle with clear and distinct flavor at this German restaurant. Everything is prepared exquisitely, from a composed German salad of fresh corn, red cabbage, and yellow beans to crisp, golden potato pancakes. The beer list is unequaled anywhere in town.

The Inside Word on Suppenküche

  • Gloria
I wouldn't really gravitate towards German food, but this place is a great find. They don't take reservations and the tables are communal so, it makes for a different dining experience. The bratwurst and the rye bread are really good. There are also a lot of great beers.
