Yuet Lee

1300 Stockton (at Broadway)
San Francisco, CA 94133
415-982-6020
A lick of paint has freshened up the venerable Chinese seafood house, but hasn't eliminated any of its essential Edward Hopperesque charm, especially visible very late at night, when Yuet Lee's famous salt-and-pepper fried squid and shrimp, braised whole fish, and sauteed crab are among San Francisco's best after-midnight (hell, after 10 p.m.!) dining options. Meat and veg dishes are also good, but the fresh seafood is stellar. Making it even more useful: After decades of cash-only transactions, Yuet Lee now accepts Visa and MasterCard.
