Legendary Rocker Tom Petty Taken Off Life Support

Tom Petty, the legendary rocker best known as the frontman of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, is clinging to life after he was found unconscious in his home Sunday night, multiple news outlets are reporting.

The musician suffered a full cardiac arrest and was found not breathing and unconscious on Sunday night in his Malibu home, according to news outlets. Petty was taken to UCLA Santa Monica Hospital, where a decision was made to pull life support, TMZ is reporting.

Petty, 66, is no stranger to the Bay Area. He was a headliner at the annual music festival Outside Lands in Golden Gate Park in 2014, and as recently as August held two shows at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley.
