Premiere: Listen to Dire Wolves’ Psychedelic New Tune, “Enter Quietly”

Recommended if you like The Incredible String Band or the Beatles circa Revolver.

Ignore the name of this track because it is anything but quiet.

Clocking in at over 12 minutes, “Enter Quietly” is a psychedelic wonderland filled with plaintive violins, groovy drums, woozy synths, and raucous electric guitar. Though it’s predominantly instrumental, listen closely and you’ll hear Dire Wolves singer Laura Naukkarinen’s otherworldly murmurings in the background, and if you’re a fan of The Incredible String Band, it won’t be hard to find something to love in this track.

“We want to get lost in the sound and we hope listeners will as well,” guitarist Jeffrey Alexander says about the song. “Especially now in these dark times, it’s more important than ever.”

“Enter Quietly” is the first single to be released from the S.F. band’s upcoming album, Excursions to Cloudland, which comes out on March 24.
