Tycho Earns His First Grammy Nomination With Epoch

But he'll have to wait until Sunday, February 12 to find out if he won.

San Francisco producer and instrumental impresario Scott Hansen, who performs under the name Tycho, has earned his first Grammy Award nomination with his fifth studio album, Epoch. The 11-track record, which charted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums this fall, is up for “Best Dance/Electronic Album.”

“[It’s] absolutely surreal to hear the news this morning that Epoch has been nominated for a Grammy for “Best Dance/Electronic Album,” says Hansen, who will be kicking off his world tour on Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Fox Theater. “The first Tycho release was 14 years ago, and since that time, I’ve had the good fortune of working with some incredibly talented and passionate people to help realize this vision. For me, Epoch felt like the culmination of that journey, so to have it recognized in this way is something truly special.”

Winners will be announced at the 59th annual event on Sunday, Feb. 12.
