Cafe Du Nord has been around for more than a century, and, as such, has served a multitude of purposes. It’s been a restaurant, bar, and music venue at various points — Joanna Newsom played a show there in 2004. And now it appears to be converting to a club.
According to property owner Dylan MacGiven who spoke to Hoodline, the current bar will be transitioning “back to a full-fledged music venue in the coming weeks.”
Through tweets from Daisy Barringer, Hoodline also found out that renovations are underway and that the venue is also under new management.
The entire staff was let go and replaced. No more partnership with the Bon Vivants so cocktail program will likely change as well.

It’s not clear when the new version of Cafe Du Nord will open, but Hoodline reports that the eatery will be scaling back its menu until further developments.
