First Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Acts Announced

The free music festival has released their secretive “teaser medley” and we cracked the code to confirm who’s playing Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2017.

The dust is barely cleaned off the animal onesies and cronut trucks of the 2017 Outside Lands festival, but our attention is already turning to Golden Gate Park’s next big weekend-long concert. Though the 2017 Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival is not until Oct. 6-8, the festival is already playing their annual game of footsie where they don’t actually “announce” the schedule, but they provide a Teaser Medley that lets you try and guess the acts.

We’ve figured out the acts — at least, we Shazamed the medley to figure out the acts  — and here are the first 10 performers confirmed for the HSB 2017 schedule

The Secret Sisters (Song: “He’s Fine”)

Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real (Song: “Set Me Down on a Cloud”)

Jon Langford (Song: “Poor Valley Radio”)

Terri Hendrix (Song: “I Found the Lions”)

The Sons of the Soul Revivers (Song: “Joy”)

Justin Townes Earle (Song: “Champagne Corolla”)

Rodney Crowell (Song: “It Ain’t Over Yet”)

Gurf Morlix  (Song: “Deeper Down”)

Midnight North (Song: “Playing a Poor Hand Well”)

The Nth Power (Song: “Only Power”)

Yes, it’s fair to point out that not one of these artists are actually bluegrass acts, and none of them are exactly headliners. But there are dozens more acts still left to be scheduled and announced, so keep an eye on the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass website for more updates.
