One of the newest electronic acts to emerge from Down Under, Kllo is the work of two Melbourne cousins who teamed up around 2014. Simon Lam handles production, while Chloe Kaul lends her crystalline voice to the tracks on each of the group’s two EPs. The results are haunting, saturnine ditties, with aquatic flourishes, mellow pacing, and celestial soundscapes that sound not unlike what you’d hear from SBTRKT. “Bolide” is one of the pair’s strongest songs, featuring a beguiling, unintelligible sample mixed below Kaul’s moan-worthy lyrics and Lam’s syncopated, spiky drumming. Kllo opens for fellow Aussies RÜFÜS DU SOL, who specialize in the art of irresistible dance music.
Kllo with RÜFÜS DU SOL at 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Fillmore. $25; thefillmore.com.
