Local quintet Panic Is Perfect excels at making pop that oversteps the boundaries of its genre, mixing elements of dance, electronic, and even world music into the fold. Formed by multi-instrumentalists Jeremy Belzer and Mike Hoffman, who bumped into each other while traveling in South India, Panic Is Perfect has released one EP and unveiled its debut album, Cellspace, earlier this year. They’ll be playing at Live 105’s Soundcheck Holiday Party along with a handful of other Bay Area indie bands, like Midi Matilda and Abbot Kinney, that specialize in textured pop and emotional rock.
